The story
Swype was built to make crypto behave like the payment apps people already use. Send money to a person instead of to a string of characters, swap between assets without the transaction becoming public reading, and do either one from a phone. Cash App and Zelle were the reference points. Privacy was the part they could not offer.
On top of that payment layer sat a tipping platform aimed at streamers. A viewer could tip in crypto and the alert appeared on the stream in the same moment, which turned a private transfer into part of the broadcast. It shipped as a mobile app and a web platform.
Distribution was further along than the market was. HoudiniSwap, the market leader in private swaps, was in conversation with us about integrating Swype into their platform. Integrations with several memecoin bundlers were built and ready to ship, a collaboration was lined up with an established memecoin developer with a sizeable YouTube following, and seven businesses across several countries were ready to accept Swype as a payment option.
We stopped it in July 2026. The crypto market had turned, and a consumer payment product needs a market that is willing to spend rather than one that is waiting. Nothing was sold and nothing was written off. We own the product outright, which makes it a finished thing on a shelf rather than a failed one.
